Quebec Late Model Racing

Some of the prominent drivers (there are many more):

  • Patrick Laperle: The best way to describe Laperle’s racing is: exciting. He is always a very fun car to watch. Among other achievements, under his belt: He is a 3-time Milk Bowl winner, a Bacon Bowl winner, has 4 wins in the Pro Late Model divsion at New Smyrna’s Speed Week, 26 wins in 94 starts in ACT Quebec, the most of anyone. His 4 championship titles is also the most of anyone, as well. In the PASS series, for PASS National he has 2 top-5s in 3 starts, and for PASS North, he has 4 wins. As for the ACT Late Model Series, he has 20 wins.

  • Donald Theetge: In July 2018, Donald Theetge made his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut at New Hampshire, finishing 33rd in the No. 90 car for DGM Racing. He later competed at ISM Raceway, finishing 25th. In 2019, Theetge ran two more races with DGM, and in 2020, he returned for the final two races of the season at Martinsville and Phoenix.

Outside of NASCAR, Theetge has had a successful career in Quebec, winning multiple championships, including the Série IMAX LMS Québec and the Quebec ACT Series, and achieving notable victories in the US-based ACT Tour Series. He also placed third in the Grand-Am Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge at Daytona in 2010, alongside his brother Benoit.

  • Alex Labbe: In November 2016, Alex Labbé made his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut at Phoenix International Raceway, finishing 23rd in the No. 90 for King Autosport. He went on to race full-time in the Xfinity Series with DGM Racing, earning multiple top-ten finishes. Labbé's impressive career began in Canada, where he became the youngest champion of the ACT Quebec Series, he also has wins in PASS North, and won the NASCAR Pinty’s Series championship in 2017.

  • Raphael Lessard: If you didn’t know who Lessard was, and you had a look at his resume, you’d be forgiven for thinking he has been around for a long time. But no, he is still really young. During his mid-teen years, Lessard put the American Super Late Model scene on notice. There are too many achievements to list them all, but: NASCAR Truck Series win, 6 wins (26.1% of his starts) in the CARS Tour Super Late Model Series, including a championship title, 3 wins in his first 5 NASCAR Canada starts, 6 ACT Quebec Series wins (37.5% of his starts), a top-5 in the All American 400, and a pole qualification in a rain cancelled All American, 2 Bacon Bowl wins, a Redbud 400 win, a Tom Curley 250, 2 top-10s in the Snowball Derby, including 68 laps led in a race where he may have won, if not for a fluid leak, and 2 top-10s in the Winchester 400.

Key Tracks and Races:

  • Autodrome Chaudière - Bacon Bowl 200: A highlight of Quebec’s racing calendar, this race offers a $10,000 prize and features some of the best talent in the region. Chaudiere is a really fun track to watch, it produces great racing.

  • Autodrome Montmagny - CAN-AM 200, Tom Curley 250: Another key venue in Quebec, is one of the 2 tracks on the ACT Quebec tour, and sometimes is home to ACT Late Model Tour races, including the $10,000 to win CAN-AM 200, and the Tom Curley 250 Memorial race.

Tour Series:

  • ACT Tour Quebec Series: A prominent series that features many of the region’s top drivers competing in Quebec.
